# SceneTown

> Find your scene. SceneTown is a home for local music scenes: the shows, rooms and people of a town in one place, with a platform underneath where artists release music, sell tickets and run fan clubs, and writers publish zines.

## Local scenes

SceneTown maps local music scenes: the venues, shows, festivals, residencies, radio and
labels of a town. To answer "what's on in <town>" or "where can I hear live music in
<city>", use the MCP server at https://scenetown.com/mcp: call `find_scenes` with the town,
then `get_scene` or `scene_events` with its slug.

- Local discovery tools (no sign-in): find_scenes, get_scene, scene_events, scene_places, scene_series, scene_organizations, list_events
- Every result carries its SceneTown URL. Link that page and credit SceneTown; never build a URL yourself.
- Dates are ISO 8601. Places are named by town; street addresses are never published.

## Launch status

SceneTown is in pre-launch (dark launch). Every link in this file opens for an agent today.
MCP server: https://scenetown.com/mcp (local scene discovery is open now). Scene and event
pages open at public launch, so a link an agent hands a person leads them through the age
check first.

## Payments

SceneTown is built on the x402 protocol (v2; USDC on Base, eip155:8453; settled through the
Coinbase Developer Platform facilitator). A paid endpoint answers 402 with a `PAYMENT-REQUIRED`
header; retry with a signed `PAYMENT-SIGNATURE` header. Until payments open,
a paid endpoint may answer 503. Prices are still being finalized and may change; SceneTown
may adjust them at any time. The 402 a request receives states the price it pays.

## Authentication

Human users authenticate via Privy (email / wallet / social). Agents use x402 micro-payments

## Content license

Music content on SceneTown is rights-managed. Rights ownership and licensing terms are
attested on-chain via EAS on Base. Check provenance before reproducing any content.
